Q: I’m on my first cycle ever, and I inject 1cc of test into my glutes on Tuesdays and Fridays. It’s been going great, but this last week, I hit my left glute again for the second time and I woke up and it hurt like hell. I couldn’t even get out of bed or walk! I talked to a friend’s dad who’s a chiropractor and he said I could have hit my sciatic nerve. I moved it closer over to my hip and that made me sore as hell again, to the point of dire pain. So I shot it in my shoulder and it was sore, but it didn’t incapacitate me. What am I doing wrong?
A: It’s hard to say, but nerves are a big area of concern. And that’s something none of us – experienced or not – know anything about. We’re not doctors, despite feeling like we are at times. Several factors could be at play. Angle is one. You might be going in at a wrong angle because of a lack of flexibility. Needle dullness can also be the reason (hope you’re not boiling and restabbing) from multiple dips into rubber vial stoppers can be the culprit, so you should always draw out with one and change the tip to a fresh one so you stab your skin with something that has never dulled.
Bad luck is another, or too much packed into one syringe, but I don’t think you’re at that point yet. Why not have someone you trust who is experienced, stab you a few times and see the difference. Technique is everything. Have them teach you what you’re doing wrong. The only other thing I can think of is the size you’re using. Remember, the smaller the number the larger the needle barrel. If you’re using an overly large one because you think oil needs to go through something enormous, then you’re probably just injuring the crap out of your tissue each time you inject. A few other things to remember: warm up the site with a washcloth, hot tub session or shower first. Don’t move or tense up. Rotate injection sites. Good luck.
