The MOTU franchise is going through a renaissance. He-Man and the heroic warriors are appearing in new animated series and a film is on the way. Masters of The Universe Revolution gave the characters more changes. Teela and He-Man for the first time in the franchise are now an official couple. The 1983, 1990, and 2002 series only implied that these two would be romantically involved. Revolution did provided further character development. Teela now fully accepts her role as the new sorceress. Adam made a conscious choice. He abolished the monarchy. Being both champion and king was too much power in Adam’s view. Adam decided he could help the most people by being the protector of Eternia. Adam no longer has to hide his identity or be filled with self-doubt. Both Adam and Teela reach self-actualization, while taking on greater responsibility. Besides the changes in personalities, the series gave them power-ups. The question is who would be the strongest warrior ? Teela has considerable power from using all three magics. Adam can summon the power without the sword. While these two warriors would never fight one another, it would be an epic battle.
He-Man is the most powerful man in the universe. When Teela became sorceress, she was the first one that was able to leave Castle Grayskull. The champion’s power is reliant on the sorceress. Beastman described this to Evil-Lynn back in the first season. If Teela can leave Grayskull that already indicates a high amount of power. Adam can transform into Savage He-Man. The limitation is that he lacks control in that form. This is why the Sword of Power is essential. It is a conduit for controlling the power. The power can do many things. It can enhance a person’s physical abilities. Whoever wields the Sword of Power gains immense strength.

Revelations and Revolution saw changes in character development and abilities. Each installment follows this pattern. The series uses lore from the toyline, 1987 movie, and its previous animated series.
Adam literally transforms into an IFBB pro and NFL linebacker. Teela in both as sorceress and Captain of the Guard form has a physique closer to a women’s Olympic track athlete. When it comes to brute strength He-Man is the winner. Teela advantage is that she has magic. The magic might enhance Adam’s strength, but it does not make him a capable magic user. Magical energy blasts can still hurt He-Man as shown with the fight with Skeletor in the first episode. Teela still has incredible fighting skills. Although fighting an illusion she fought a fake version of He-Man. Scare Glow created the illusion to keep Teela trapped. She was able to fight the He-Man clone well enough, until he used his fists. One hit knocked her down. Magic powers could compensate for the difference muscular strength. Granted, it is uncertain if Teela has enhanced strength in her sorceress form. Teela lifted He-Man and flew out of Subternia in the first episode of Revolution. Either magic is giving her extra levitation, because He-Man’s weight would be considerable.
Consider various abilities of these characters. Then take into account their statistics. He-Man has superhuman strength, nigh invulnerability, and can jump long distances. He can still be killed, even though close to being a demi-God. The 2021 version of the character is billed as being 6 foot 7 inches tall with a weight of 325 lbs. He-Man is basically the size of Mr. Olympia Samson Dauda. Teela’s weight and height are not officially listed. The conjecture is that she could be around 150 lbs and 5 foot six inches. Teela’s strength is estimated to be around that of a professional female athlete. Her magical abilities were with her an an early age. Teela has military training and is proficient in blade weapons.

Teela go a new form in Revelations as the new sorceress. This finally completed a storyline from the 1983 and 2002 animated series. Teela is the first sorceress to have the ability to leave Castle Grayskull .
When she restore Preternia, Teela almost is like a goddess. Having all the magical abilities it looks as if she could be more powerful than He-Man. Attaining the Tri Sorceress form indicates this. However, limitation is present. The only way to control all three magics was to use the Sword of Power. Adam powering down or Skeletor getting the Ram Staff back would just revert Teela back to Grayskull sorceress form. He-Man could win a battle with Captain of the Guard Teela, but not in her sorceress forms. Teela’s snake goddess Ka form still would not be a match for He-Man.
Teela could possibly be more powerful than He-Man. Her powers are now closer to being God like. This means the gap in power would possibly be reversed, not equal . The tri sorceress form has all three magics.
The three magics are somewhat chaotic. They represent Zoar, Ka, and Havoc Gods. When Teela attempted to merge all into one staff it almost tore her apart. Adam solved the problem by using an upgraded Sword of Power. It was able to fuse all the magics into one. This could have enhanced He-Man’s abilities as well. The clue was when He-Man was able to power down Skeletor back in to Keldor. The technique might not work on a tri sorceress. Tri sorceress Teela and He-Man would basically be at the same level of power. A fight in their latest forms would probably be a draw.
What is called magic in he 2021 version of MOTU is cosmic energy. The forms characters get and the changes might be ambiguous. This indicates that the magic is not well understood or controlled. Teela was literally wallowing in the magic before becoming sorceress. Her body did not attain the muscular physique. The only explanation was that Teela did not use the Sword of Power to become sorceress. Evil-Lyn did this becoming a sorceress champion. That explains her dramatic change in strength. Teela when she became the tri sorceress was not holding the sword. The three magics had to be contained, because they were erratic. Adam had to carefully manage that power.

The power can increase strength and athletic ability. The magic can change regular people into demi-Gods. The power does not make a person immoral or invincible. He-Man was still killed by the energy explosion. Evil-Lyn could still feel pain getting punched by Teela.
This could be the reason she did not get a change in physique. However, when Adam transforms Battle Cat Cringer gets bigger. The magic of the three Gods is just as unclear as the cosmic energy from the celestial apex. Both magic and the cosmic energy referred to as magic can turn people superhuman. Yet, it is dangerous. The Sword of Power is able to manage it. Each season Teela and He-Man get power-ups. If a third season is to be produced hopefully Teela gets a champion form. Her sorceress form should have made her slightly more muscular. The power has the ability to enhance a user’s fitness. There is no reason that this would not happen to Teela.

The fan art rendition of Teela as sorceress is closer to what she should have looked like. Her action figure was sculped to show her impressive biceps. The battleground form is theoretically what Teela would look like if she used the Sword of Power. Some fan artists make her more muscular.
The ability of He-Man to share the power means more possibilities. Teela is more powerful just due to the fact she has mastery over three magics. At some point Keldor could get the Havoc Staff back, which means Teela will lose that type of magic. What could be done is what Evil-Lyn did. Teela as sorceress could use the Sword of Power. Seeing as Adam and Teela did a dual transformation that technique could be repeated. Her new form could possibly be the Battleground Teela version. Her clothing would resemble that of He-Man’s, minus the chest plate. The tri sorceress form and the battleground form would make her the winner in a fight with He-Man.
Calling Teela a support hero is not accurate. Saying she did not fight or was equal to He-Man would be false. Although she was not as strong, Teela is a capable soldier. Training Prince Adam for combat and being Captain of the Royal Guard takes talent. Teela was not a sidekick, but a hero in her own right. Teela and He-Man were already fighting as equals throughout the franchise. A gap was closed in power, with the tri sorceress form, He-Man is behind. Her role as a hero has been a constant throughout multiple animated series. Teela is called the warrior goddess for a reason. What changes about Teela’s role is being sorceress of Grayskull and her romantic relationship with He-Man. No secrets or barriers exist among the two heroes. Through out the franchise these two characters are connected. Their bond now is unbreakable. The strongest warrior would be Teela in her tri sorceress form. This is only because Adam cannot manipulate magic to the extent she does. Teela’s Grayskull sorceress form could still be more powerful than Adam’s champion form. The reason is because Teela is the first sorceress that is not bound to Castle Grayskull. He-Man abilities are agility, speed, and superhuman strength. Teela in her latest form would be the strongest with magic countering He-Man’s abilities. If a battle were to happen between the two it might be a draw. The two basically have the energy of the universe. If another mini series happens He-Man and Teela will likely get more forms and power-ups. The 2021 version of MOTU made them the most powerful fighters in the franchise.
